We have hit a rhythm in our days here, waking early, paddling good distances during the best conditions we can and stopping in villages or coves to eat, swim, resupply or rest. Or have a cappuccino. The major challenges are long crossings and choppy seas. We’ve had a good stretch of high pressure lately making for some divine conditions.
Some days, we go great distances without seeing another boat or person. Other days, we may pass by several towns and camps within a few hours of paddling. It’s sweet to swing into a town for a gelato and a couple supplies or just paddle on past and find a cove of our own.
The whole sailing and yachting scene is appealing although seemingly exceedingly lazy. We’re making mental notes, though, and are entertaining thoughts of sailing school. I can’t really imagine a lovelier setting for a sail.
