We’ve been getting really excited over here at the Wanderlust Research labs of late. School is coming to a close, the weather is warm and in just a few more days we’ll be headed to Indonesia!
We’ve been really lucky to get some great flying in this spring at Mussel Rock and Mt. Diablo. We’ve also been very lucky to get to share some of those days with our newest flying buddies Elizabeth and Cooper. They have recently got their P2 ratings and are starting to get out and explore what they can do with their crispy new paragliders.
Spring is a really special time for flying in the Bay Area and in California, brilliantly clear days on the coast, nice friendly thermals inland. This spring has been no exception. We’ve had a blast soaking it all in (as you can see in our little video).
So, Indonesia… It’s so good that we have to go back. In all our years of summer adventuring this is the first time that we’ll return to a place. Our plan is to base out of Bali once more. We’ve been able to get in touch with the family we stayed with on our last trip and will stay with them again. They’re even going to arrange a car for us and pick us up at the airport So we’ll be set from day one!
Timbis, the flying site on Bali on the Bukit (the southern most peninsula on the island) is one of the finest coastal sites we’ve ever seen. It will be awesome to fly it again day after day after day! With any luck we plan to meet up with Elizabeth a Cooper during our first week there to fly with them as well.
The plan is also to take some trips to other areas in Indo. To explore the remote islands, do some diving and generally feel the power of standing on the closest thing to a literal edge of the earth there is.
Keep an eye out for our tales of adventure over the next couple months!
